Christopher F. Lewis - Managing Member

Overview:

Christopher F. Lewis is a founding attorney of Stepan, Lewis & Paxman, LC. Mr. Lewis focuses his practice on two areas of law: business transactions and estate planning. Mr. Lewis represents small and medium sized business clients that are starting a business, selling a business or assets, buying a business or assets, merging with another business, seeking financing, entering into various types of contractual obligations and engaging in other transactions and agreements. Mr. Lewis represents individuals who are in need of a will, a trust, and/or estate planning advice. Mr. Lewis also represents real estate owners and developers with their legal needs.

Prior to joining his practice with Mr. Stepan and Mr. Paxman, Chris founded his own law practice. Before opening his own practice, he worked locally for Kirton & McConkie as a member of their real estate practice section. While at K&M, Mr. Lewis worked in the following areas: real estate, banking, business formations, litigation, insurance defense, immigration, international, among others. Prior to that, Chris served two one-year judicial clerkships. More recently, he served the Honorable Judge J. Thomas Greene at the United States District Court for the District of Utah, where he assisted in cases involving United States Census Bureau litigation, real estate disputes, Title VII discrimination, intellectual property litigation, medical malpractice, and others. Mr. Lewis also clerked in the Utah First Judicial District, serving Cache, Box Elder and Rich Counties, where he did a wide variety of work for six judges under the supervision of then-Presiding Judge Gordon J. Low, including the areas of construction, discrimination, criminal, real estate, water rights, land and property disputes, post-conviction relief, and others.

    Interests:

Chris's current leisure interests include camping with his wife and children, playing basketball and following Boston professional sports and University of Arizona collegiate sports. He enjoys playing chess, trying to figure out how to sculpt with clay and writing bad poetry. He also likes food of (almost) every variety. Chris and his wife dragged their children out of the country to do legal work in Belgium for a few months several years ago and hope to have other opportunities to show them the world. Chris was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and he spent many years in Arizona before coming to Utah to attend law school, where he has resided ever since. Chris has also spent a total of almost three years living in Europe, primarily in France and Switzerland. And, while Utah is now Chris's home, he does not like Jello.
